Good features for the price. I bought this unit primarily for the phono input and bluetooth. However the FM aerial antenna reception is weak compared to my old tuner and there is no AM band.

I struggled when it came to buying a replacement for the receiver I've had since 1996. I had to decide between something vintage or something brand new. In the end, I listened to my ears. I have tinnitus so it made sense for me to get a receiver with the lowest noise ratio at this price point. I am pretty impressed with it in most every way (aside from the speaker connections, but I knew that going in). What I didn't expect was how much I would like it aesthetically.

I hooked it up only yesterday. Works so far. 1. The receptacles for the speaker wires are too small for the wires. 2. The design is stylishly modern - but that means that the words on the controls ("SPEAKERS," "TUNING MODE," etc) are teeny-tiny and barely visible to my 81 year-old eyes.

Replaced my 29 year old Sony receiver when a channel went out. Since I retired and now live in a 3 story condo building, I did not need as much power. This is a simple unit and sounds good for the money. If you are looking for a pro unit with bells and whistles, this is NOT it. If 200 watts is enough for you and you want to keep it simple, this is the unit for you.

I had bought some speakers a while back that had great reviews so I finally decided to buy them. I was so disappointed. I tried breaking them in, changing room design, getting a sub woofer and still was disappointed. I was about to return them when I decided that maybe my old receiver needed to change. I looked on youtube and watch hundreds of reviews on audio receivers. But one just kept showing up with great reviews saying not only was this receiver great, the price was great too. So I purchased the Sony STR-DH190. All I could say was UNBELIEVABLE! My speakers came to life. The imaging was perfect, upper and lower was great, mid-range was awesome. Every recording sounded like they were in the room. I even heard instruments I never heard before. So I thought well that's crazy, So I invited my older son to listen to his favorite song on my new system. His reaction was, "I'm hearing instuments I never heard before and the imaging is nuts." All I can say Sony is thanks for making a superior product at a great price.

Bought this for use at a small Marina and it really does a nice job. Sound is good, fm tuner is strong, and the Bluetooth option really complements the usage we get. I only wish it had a usb option to play MP3 recordings.

Little light on power

I thought 200 watts of power was enough to drive my Kef speakers, but the amp is a little short. Works fine but lacks power. Controls are great and was easy to setup. Overall average.

It works good but somethings are difficult to set up. I can’t adjust the balance on the speakers which is weird. I want one speaker to be alittle louder then the other. I can’t change that

Unfortunately, there is no option on the receiver to change the volume level for individual speakers. To adjust the balance between left and right speakers, you can adjust from “BAL. L+10” to “BAL. Perfect for a basic setup. I use it for just a 2 speaker phono setup to play vinyl, and I can still Bluetooth music from our phones. I only wish the speaker wire connectors would accept banana plugs.

I have had this receiver for two years and I have enjoyed it so much I just bought another one just like it for our guest house. This is one of the best 2 channel receivers i have bought. Its simple to operate and has great sound. My Panasonic PL 550 turntable which I bought in 1974 has excellent sound. This is an outstanding receiver, if your looking for a two channel receiver with phono inputs. The remote is easy to use and has blue tooth capabilities. However I don't see a need for that.

Nice but stopped working after 1 year

Purchased a little over a year ago and loved it. It has since stopped working on the right speaker side. Troubleshooting shows it is the receiver that stopped working.

Bought it to set up an old phono player and it works great! It's bigger than expected so check your shelf size if you want to hide it. We didn't so it sits on top but really looks just fine and is easier to get to so all-in-all I'm fine. Love the bluetooth option!!! Easy to hook up and has good range...our receiver is set up downstairs and it stays hooked up even as I roam around upstairs. We can crank the tunes and my teens love it! The radio range also is good even though set up in basement get all the stations when my hubby wants to listen to games.

An equalizer needs to be connected to the tape monitor loop on an AV receiver in order to operate. The current line of Sony® receivers do not have a tape monitor loop. For this reason, it is not possible to connect an add-on equalizer to current Sony® AV receivers.
And also, Most Sony® receivers feature a built in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) Equalizer. The addition of an equalizer is not needed, and would provide no additional benefit to the overall sound output of the receiver.

I bought this to replace my NAD 3020(bought in 1980) that bit the dust. If you know anything about the NAD 3020. Well, I was not expecting much from this Sony. Honestly, this unit sounds really great when it is turned up. I am a fan.

I did not realize when I bought this receiver that it did not have home theater capabilities. I am unable to connect my stereo speaker system to my home theater system. That sucks.

I can't budget audiophile equipment in my world, but I think the sound out of this unit is as good as it gets under $200. I resurrected my old Technics turntable which sounds great ( and the onboard preamp saved me $50.) CD's and FM radio also sound great. Th FM antenna included gets all the local stations. I'm driving Polk Audio TSI500 floor speakers. At half volume it more than fills the room. I Like the frequency balance. Good reproduction of the recorded audio. The TV sounds great through it also.

4 mois pour une livraison en période de Covid19. Ca valait la peine d'attendre malgré tout. Mis à part l'absence de prise USB, il a tout ce dont j'ai besoin. La quadriphonie est très bien gérée. Le traitement platine vinyle est de qualité. La fonction bluetooth fonctionne parfaitement. La puissance est là et équilibrée. Je suis dans une zone qui capte mal la FM et le tuner est le plus performant de mes autres récepteurs. Pour finir, un bon rapport qualité prix pour une entrée de gamme sérieuse.

I just got this yesterday tynalo replace a high end stereo I have had for years. THIS Sony is better than expected and has phono input since I still use records along with other sources. THIS has bluetooth and works GREAT. I may buy a second one since I like it that much. Thank you Sony for including phono and the other features in a great sounding simple stereo. GREAT price.

The unit did not meet my expectations. The FM antenna does not allow for a real FM antenna to be attached. The power output is also substandard and the phono input had too much noise on the channel. Compared to previous Sony products that I have owned, this was not even close to what I have come to expect.

This receiver does a great job of playing my 60-80 records through its Phono channel at volumes close to what I remember back then when I was playing them in a band at the clubs. Clean and accurate. My only wish for the receiver would be: 1: Not have a proprietary FM antenna My reception is a little on the week side and I always used an amplified FM antenna to pull in a lot more stations from Philly, New York and Chicago. 2: Wish it have a PreAmp Out and Amp In connections so I could add my 10 band graphic equalizer to the system to further tailor the sound output more. But all and all for the price, this is a good system hub.

Worked well until suddenly died.

Setup was easy, worked great until one day did not turn on.... After exchanging few emails with Sony support I got answer same what I read in the support page in beginning and what did not solve the problem... support sent also couple contacts of service businesses in area but told me that I have to find out if they do repair this model. My question is what's next if they don't? ... I was happy with product but now I am really disappointed...

Great Stereo Receiver!

I've had a Sony receiver that lasted for 32 years of practically daily use for at least 3 hours each day. It finally died, so the first brand I looked for to replace it was Sony, and they did not disappoint -- the STR-DH190 is a wonderful piece of equipment, great sound reinforcement and it's got the two channels for speakers. I need that because I have my music teaching studio/office and I also have a musical instrument repair space in my basement, so I need to be able to pump sound into both rooms. This does the job perfectly. The sound quality is fantastic, the receiver is easy to operate and the remote control allows easy and quick access to all the functions of the amp. I can even hook up an external mp3 player or other device by way of bluetooth, or using a 1/8" stereo cable, which makes this receiver even more versatile and valuable. And the price is unbelievable -- I paid less for this one than I paid for the unit it has replaced when I bought it 32 years ago!

I've had my Sony receiver for a month or so and have played quite a number of albums through it, a few cd's and also listened to FM radio. Sounds good, and while it's not full of tons of features, I don't need those, and so for the price it's a great value, and the remote makes using it very easy.

Bought this receiver for the Bluetooth connection as I wanted to make use of my old school Cerwin Vega speakers in my game room. The Bluetooth feature works flawlessly—objective met. Horrible fm antenna

Terrible FM antenna. Unable to upgrade easily to coaxial cable. Tech support was a nightmare and a total waste of time. For confirmation, check a user forums on the internet. Receiver is only as good as the antenna. Designed for use in cabinet but Sony manual says if reception poor move to a window!
